CODES AND CIPHERS NAMING OF CULTIVATED GRAPE VARIETIES IN AZERBAIJAN

The article notes that in the world more than 400 basic genetic traits and types of hereditary variability have been coded and encrypted based on OIV descriptors of grape varieties belonging to V. vinifera L., in accordance with internationally recognized standards. Accordingly, the development of digital ampelographic descriptions of grape varieties has begun in Azerbaijan. For the first time in the Republic of Azerbaijan, more than 270 aboriginal and introduced, as well as breeding grape varieties, the main genetic characteristics and ampelo-descriptor features corresponding to the digital ampelography method are expressed in codes and numerals, The keys to reading such codes and numerals in fundamental works Ampelography of Azerbaijan are given in Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages. Also, for the purpose of digital ampelographic description, the names of indigenous grape varieties are expressed by appropriate codes and ciphers. The article also provides an example of a digital ampelographic description of grape varieties.
